Big Week at the Jones House

This week has been so exciting for Lexi and Lyla! Josh had been letting the girls take a couple of naps in their cribs while I was at work and they did so well. Because of that, we decided to let them started sleeping in their cribs! My original plan was to transition them at 4 months, so we're just a couple of weeks early. They are doing so great in there. Josh burned a CD with water noises on it since they loved the sound machine on their pack n play. So that's the first exciting news!

Next, on Wednesday, I was off, which was fabulous since I had worked a lot in the past week. Well, I put Lyla down to do some tummy time, and that little girl pushed her little chest up and ROLLED OVER! Now, I don't really know if this counts because she has not done it again but she did it all on her own on that day! We are so proud of her! Lexi still won't do it, she acts like she wants to roll from her back to her tummy, which is more difficult (definitely my daughter).

And finally, last night, Josh and I decided to try and feed the girls big bottles before bed to see if that would let them sleep any longer. For those of you that don't know, Lexi and Lyla (well mostly Lyla) can be very picky eaters at times. It just depends on their moods whether they will finish a 5 ounce bottle sometimes! Anyway, last night at 8:00 pm we gave them each a 7 ounce bottle and they both finished it. We put them down after that and they slept until 3:30 and 4 am! We're definitely getting closer! Josh and I had a wonderful meal of pizza and quesadillas (and I wonder why I still have 10-15 pounds to go) and we watched some basketball and an episode of Lost on the DVR.

So that's our week in a nutshell. Oh you want pictures? I'll leave you all in suspense and post some later. Josh took some great pictures of Miss Personality (Lyla) this week that are oh so cute!

Have a good weekend!

  1. That is a great week! I swear by the 10 minute track of ocean waves we downloaded from itunes. We put it on repeat and it does the trick! My girls started napping in their cribs too.

Oh, that totally counts for rolling over. My girls did the same thing and then took a break from it for a few weeks. Then one day they started rolling and haven't stopped. Seriously, they will roll right across a room now in under 5 minutes. UZnfortunately, they also roll in their sleep, which then ticks them off. Oh well...

Sounds like things are going well and the new pictures are great! Just so cute!
