Dreams Do Come True

Remember this post? Well, check this out:

Yes, those are my beautiful baby girls sitting in their very own SWEET Bumbleride. Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa Jones...we love it.

Baby Naming and Aunt Debbie

This past weekend my Aunt Debbie came to town from Pennsylvania. I had not seen her in a long time and I was so excited for her to finally meet her grand-nieces whom she's been spoiling! It was Rosh Hashanah (Jewish new year) and we finally did Lexi and Lyla's Hebrew naming. They were so good during services and they enjoyed being passed from person to person. Lexi even showed some of her singing skills as she sang with the Rabbi! Thank you to all of our friends (who are more like family) for coming: Aunt Dina, Aunt Kayla and Uncle Jason with Aaron, Batya, and Ahava, Aunt Nadine and Uncle Josh with Rebecca and Baby Goldin, and Aunt Robin and Uncle Conrad. Lexi and Lyla are so lucky to have so many people who love them!

My Little Volunteers

As most of you know, Josh and I went to the University of Tennessee and we are HUGE UT fans. Our blood truly runs orange around here and we are hoping to raise some future Lady Vols. Unfortunately this year's football season has not been the best so far, but we have hope for the future. My parents were kind of enough to watch Lexi and Lyla last weekend so that we could go to Knoxville for the UCLA game. I'm hoping to get some pictures from my father so that I can post about our weekend and Lexi and Lyla's weekend! Until then, here are some pictures I took yesterday as the girls prepared for their first big rivalry game: UT vs. Florida. We lost, but the Vols showed great heart and spirit, and we are very proud of them! GO VOLS!

Take 1: Mama's hair is up and the girls are unsure

Cruising for a win?

Maybe a future cheerleader?

Good Things Come In Twos

My parents had gotten Lexi and Lyla these adorable onesies that said, "Good things come in twos". So as any normal Mommy would do, I dressed the girls in them and decided to take some pictures. Ha. My busy little girls had other ideas because they would NOT sit still. So instead, I give you pictures of Lexi and Lyla deep in play (wearing said onesies).

Lexi just crawls over anything in her way and Lyla pulling up on anything taller than a sheet of paper

This fake apple is delicious!

My friend and old college roommate Kristen, loaned us a TON of awesome toys for the girls. We are having so much fun with all of them and we just wanted to say THANK YOU!

Lyla making sweet music and Lexi at work

She really likes to put the stick in her mouth (don't worry Kristen, I'll clean everything really well before I give them back)

Lexi can't decide which toy is next!

Lyla actually crawled over to that toy and just sat her little butt on it. She actually played like that for a while.

Yes, that is a Palm Treo next to Lexi. It's my old phone that now belongs to the girls. Family Share Plan.

9 Month Check-Up = Success!

I am so behind on posting and I feel like I have a MILLION things to blog about. I'm going to start with our 9 month check up that we had this week. This was our first check up where we did not carry the girls in with their infant carriers/car seats! Sounds silly and trivial, but it really felt like they were big girls this way. The main reason we did it was because they are so heavy to carry! Well we found out why...Lexi weighs 18 pounds 6 ounces and Lyla weighs 17 pounds 12 ounces! This is more than QUADRUPLE their birth weights! They are both 27 inches tall and they have huge heads. They are hitting all of their developmental milestones on time and they do not have to be adjusted for prematurity any more! They got their first flu shot and we have to go back in a month for the second one. The pediatrician also gave us the go ahead to start transitioning off of baby food and on to what we eat. She said it would be okay to go down to 3 bottles with sippy cups of water whenever they want (still working on sippy cup training). They both did so great and we are so proud of our little girls. I feel like I say this all of the time, but I do feel so incredibly blessed to have such wonderful, HEALTHY, baby girls.

Happy Nine Months!

I can NOT believe that my teeny tiny baby girls are now NINE months old. That's 3/4's of a year old! Lexi and Lyla are up to so much these days, including crawling and pulling up. They are busy little girls! They both have 2 bottom teeth, both wear size 3 Pampers Cruisers. We won't be going to the doctor for their 9 month check up until the middle of the month, so I don't know their official weights and heights yet. When we weigh them on our scale, Lexi is over 18 pounds and Lyla is over 17 pounds, but I don't know how accurate that is. Lexi is very vocal and knows that if she cries, "MAMA", she will get picked up by her Mama, but she says Dada more. Lyla has started saying Dada and Mama as well but mostly just makes cute little noises. They continue to be such happy, sweet girls, and they are loved so much!

Taking their 9 month pictures was pretty difficult with how mobile they are now, but here you go!
