Why I Run

Because...
1. It keeps me healthy.
2. I love running shoes.
3. It makes me feel alive.
4. Runner's High is totally a real thing.
5. G-d gave me legs so why not use them?
6. It's *MY* time.
7. I have cool trails in my town.
8. It makes me have to shave regularly.
9. It's more acceptable to wear running shorts all day when you've actually run.
10. I love running shorts.
11. I want to be a good exercise influence on Lexi and Lyla.
12. My husband thinks I'm hot.
13. I get to listen to MY music and not Disney Princesses.
14. It makes me wake up early.
15. Did I mention how much I love buying workout clothes?
16. It makes me eat healthier.
17. I get cool t-shirts when I run races.
18. I like to challenge myself.
19. I lose weight.
AND FINALLY...
20. I get to be a badass like KATNISS!!! Yeah that's right, I totally pretend like I'm a fictional character from a young adult series while I run. Gotta problem with it? I hope not, because I'm a runner and I could totally kick your ass!! ;)

Cutest. Picture. Ever.

This past weekend was my weekend to work. I work every 3rd weekend which is really not that bad, especially in the world of pharmacists. I love love love my job, but during that 3 day stretch over the weekend I get to where I am really missing Lexi and Lyla (not that I don't miss them everyday that I work). So this past Saturday, I was so excited to get this picture from Josh that he had taken the night before. You might want to go ahead and brace yourselves because it is the GOSH DARN CUTEST PICTURE YOU HAVE EVER SEEN IN YOUR WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!!

I just couldn't stop looking at these 2 sweethearts, cuddled up in a way I imagine only the closest of siblings would cuddle. So peaceful and serene and comfortable. I'm so thankful these sisters are so close!

We Have Growth!

My vegetables are growing! My vegetables are growing! I feel as proud as a new mama! It's been so fun taking care of our gardens and watching them grow. Lexi and Lyla have been so good about not messing with the plants. They love helping to water the gardens and they often tell the plants to "keep on gwowing vegetables!". I added a strawberry plant and a watermelon plant for the girls. Considering they eat a pound of strawberries a day, it would be great if the strawberries produced!

Grow Gardens Grow!!
Green Pepper bud

Well hello there twin cherry tomatoes!

I saw some back door herb gardens on Pinterest that I think I'm also going to attempt. Look how cool they are:

Happy Mother's Day!

God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers. ~Jewish Proverb

Being a mother is the greatest role in my life. I mean that's obvious since I have a blog basically devoted to my family. But today is Mother's Day, and although I don't normally get too into these kinds of "Hallmark Holidays", I received 2 text messages that really made me appreciate the gift of motherhood:

HAPPY MOMS DAY YOU SEXY B**CH! Seriously tho I love you and I hope you have a wonderful day with your amazing daughters!! I want you to know you have made a huge impact on my life and always make me feel better about any situation I'm in. I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me. You're an amazing friend, boss, and mother! Im so blessed to have you in my life!! I LOVE THE TITS OUT OF YOU!

In many ways ur like a mother figure to me, thank u for keeping my head above water and supporting and love me and my family, love u!

Obviously my darling daughters showered me with love today, gave me kisses and hugs, and thanked me for little things like getting them dressed and wiping their butts, but those 2 text messages made my day.

Being a mother has taught me compassion and patience. It's made me stop and ask myself, "What would my daughters think of me in this situation? Would they be proud that I'm they're Mom?". Mom's make impacts in people's lives. My mother has always been a role model in my life. But, I learned today that I can make an impact in other people's lives just by being a good caring mom.

I'm not trying to say I'm always a good mom. I have my bad days like every other mom. My point in all this rambling is to provide myself a reminder that although I'm not perfect, loving my daughters, my family, and my friends is making a difference in SOMEONE'S life.

Today we had my parents and Josh's parents and grandmother over for a cookout. The girls loved playing with their grandparents! I wanted to get a picture of me and my girls but as usual, they just didn't cooperate.

Lyla-isms

Lyla goes to give Casey a hug...
Me: Awwww, Lyla you love your Casey don't you?
Lyla: Yes, and I love you Mommy! (as she climbs in my lap and throws her arm around me)

Excuse the makeup-less post run "glow". It's more about the love here, people.
