Long time

Well it's been almost 2 weeks since my last post! Honestly, there has not been a whole lot going on which is really a good thing! Lexi and Lyla are really doing well with eating and sleeping and they are just such wonderful babies. It has gotten so hard for me to go to work and leave these precious girls! So, if anyone wants to win the lottery for me, that would be great...thanks.

My sweet girls will be 4 months old on Friday, 1/3 of a year old! Time really flies. We have their 4 month appointment on Friday so I will update how that goes. Hopefully we get the OK to start solids so that should be fun! Josh and I let the girls have a little taste of mashed potatoes the other day and they seemed to really like them! Lyla loves to sit in her Bumbo on the table while we eat and she really takes an interest in our food so I think she's ready. And Lexi just loves to eat period so I think she won't mind it either!

Lexi and Lyla also got a chance to meet their Great-Aunt Patty and Cousin Patrick last week. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I had to work most of the week and weekend so I only got to spend one day with them. Thanks for coming to see us though!

Also, our good friend Abby surprised us and came into town last weekend. Abby is a flight attendant and we get to see her about twice a year. It was great to see you Abby! Hopefully we will see you soon!

No Words Necessary

Big Week at the Jones House

This week has been so exciting for Lexi and Lyla! Josh had been letting the girls take a couple of naps in their cribs while I was at work and they did so well. Because of that, we decided to let them started sleeping in their cribs! My original plan was to transition them at 4 months, so we're just a couple of weeks early. They are doing so great in there. Josh burned a CD with water noises on it since they loved the sound machine on their pack n play. So that's the first exciting news!

Next, on Wednesday, I was off, which was fabulous since I had worked a lot in the past week. Well, I put Lyla down to do some tummy time, and that little girl pushed her little chest up and ROLLED OVER! Now, I don't really know if this counts because she has not done it again but she did it all on her own on that day! We are so proud of her! Lexi still won't do it, she acts like she wants to roll from her back to her tummy, which is more difficult (definitely my daughter).

And finally, last night, Josh and I decided to try and feed the girls big bottles before bed to see if that would let them sleep any longer. For those of you that don't know, Lexi and Lyla (well mostly Lyla) can be very picky eaters at times. It just depends on their moods whether they will finish a 5 ounce bottle sometimes! Anyway, last night at 8:00 pm we gave them each a 7 ounce bottle and they both finished it. We put them down after that and they slept until 3:30 and 4 am! We're definitely getting closer! Josh and I had a wonderful meal of pizza and quesadillas (and I wonder why I still have 10-15 pounds to go) and we watched some basketball and an episode of Lost on the DVR.

So that's our week in a nutshell. Oh you want pictures? I'll leave you all in suspense and post some later. Josh took some great pictures of Miss Personality (Lyla) this week that are oh so cute!

Have a good weekend!

Game Day!

Today the Vols played Auburn in the semi-finals of the SEC tournament...and WON! Tomorrow they play Mississippi State for the championship (but I have to work unfortunately). We decided to put the girls in their game day gear and they looked so cute!

Catching up!

The blogging has slowed considerably and I am so sorry for that! Things have been going well for Lexi and Lyla and I just can't believe how quickly time has been passing. I just realized the other day that I need to go ahead and make their 4 month appointment! WOW!

Last weekend the weather was beautiful here so the girls got to go on a walk! Unfortunately the weather decided to get yucky again after that so we haven't gotten to go on anymore walks. Here we are:

Lyla got the front seat and she just stared at me the whole time pretty much!

Lexi ended up falling asleep in the back seat

More Pictures from Daddy!

Josh gets some great pictures of the girls while I'm at work. It's always fun to come home and see what they've been up to that day. Here are some pictures from this week:

Josh took these pictures while watching American Idol. He said Lyla was loving it and actually rocked to the music in her Bumbo.

Happy Lexi!

So sweet

Happy Lyla!

They look like they just woke up in this one

Happy (belated) 3 Months Lexi and Lyla!

Lexi and Lyla turned 3 months old on March 3rd! Unfortunately I was at work and didn't get to make a post on the actual day but today will do. The girls are doing really well lately, which makes it even harder to go to work :( But they are still in great hands with their Daddy and that makes me happy! Both Lexi and Lyla have been eating so well lately so I'll be curious to see how much they'll weigh next month at their 4 month appointment! The biggest thing going on in their lives right now is their hands. These girls are obsessed! They will stick their fingers in their mouth and just smack away on them, frantically searching for the prized thumb. Last night after we put them down, Lexi actually found her thumb but it only satisfied her for a little bit...she still wanted Clifford, her Wubanub. They are also grasping toys more and more. We still have not rolled over but the girls are actually warming up to "tummy time" so maybe that will happen soon. My favorite thing though is that the smiles are coming so much more frequently. Every morning I feed the girls on my own at 6:00 am and they just smile and coo when I change them. It is so sweet and really sends me off to work in a great mood.

So there is a reason that I am a pharmacist and not a photographer. I attempted to take some 3 month pictures of the girls this morning and I just failed miserably. But, here they are in all their glory (Lexi in floral and Lyla in stripes):
