Happy Mother's Day!

God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers. ~Jewish Proverb

Being a mother is the greatest role in my life. I mean that's obvious since I have a blog basically devoted to my family. But today is Mother's Day, and although I don't normally get too into these kinds of "Hallmark Holidays", I received 2 text messages that really made me appreciate the gift of motherhood:

HAPPY MOMS DAY YOU SEXY B**CH! Seriously tho I love you and I hope you have a wonderful day with your amazing daughters!! I want you to know you have made a huge impact on my life and always make me feel better about any situation I'm in. I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me. You're an amazing friend, boss, and mother! Im so blessed to have you in my life!! I LOVE THE TITS OUT OF YOU!

In many ways ur like a mother figure to me, thank u for keeping my head above water and supporting and love me and my family, love u!

Obviously my darling daughters showered me with love today, gave me kisses and hugs, and thanked me for little things like getting them dressed and wiping their butts, but those 2 text messages made my day.

Being a mother has taught me compassion and patience. It's made me stop and ask myself, "What would my daughters think of me in this situation? Would they be proud that I'm they're Mom?". Mom's make impacts in people's lives. My mother has always been a role model in my life. But, I learned today that I can make an impact in other people's lives just by being a good caring mom.

I'm not trying to say I'm always a good mom. I have my bad days like every other mom. My point in all this rambling is to provide myself a reminder that although I'm not perfect, loving my daughters, my family, and my friends is making a difference in SOMEONE'S life.

Today we had my parents and Josh's parents and grandmother over for a cookout. The girls loved playing with their grandparents! I wanted to get a picture of me and my girls but as usual, they just didn't cooperate.

  1. It's amazing to me how much being a mom has impacted me in almost every thing I do. I don't always get it right, but I try to think, "How would I want my girls to behave?" in a certain situation. It definitely puts new perspective in place!

Happy (belated) Mother's Day to you!
