Four Days of Bliss

Today is the last day of my AWESOME four day weekend. Even though I truly do love my job, I get so sad to think about having to go back to work! Lexi and Lyla are just such joys to be around! I feel bad because I have been doing an awful job at updating what they have been up to. Let's see...

Lyla's cut a tooth
Lexi's *this* close to crawling
both are desperate to pull up to a stand but are just not quite there
both are back to babbling and Lexi says "uh-oh"
we're about to be out of Swaddlers and into Cruisers
both girls are mastering feeding themselves
they look at each other and smile and laugh
both girls are ticklish on their feet
I took them out BY MYSELF (to work where they are so loved)
both girls LOVE both sets of Grandparents
they both smile ALL THE TIME
they both can get out of a sitting position themselves (on purpose)
Lexi would rather stand than sit
Lyla does little dances
Lyla shakes her head "no"
both girls sleep on their tummies or sides now

That's it for now. I could probably think of a ton of other things they do. They are just such sweethearts lately, I can't get enough of it. Every month I find myself thinking, "this is my favorite month so far". But really, 8 months has been fantastic. I am SO LUCKY!

I need to go take a shower while the girls are napping, but I'll post some pictures in a little bit....stay tuned! Ok, here's one to tide you all over (it's my new favorite!)

I'd Kill For This...

Two Of A Kind is giving away this awesome stroller. I've been wanting a side-by-side stroller in addition to the tandem stroller that I already have so that both girls can see the world in front of them! Bumbleride makes some beautiful strollers don't they (clearly they are proud of their products based on the prices!)! Anyway, I get a couple of extra entries for blogging about the giveaway, but please check out the blog also! Wish me luck!

Happy Eight Months!

Happy 8 months sweet baby girls! You are both so very loved and you make your Mama and Daddy so happy.

Have I mentioned how much I love my girls?

SO MUCH! You know you love your babies when you're sad to put them to bed. Is that ridiculous? Josh and I always cuddle/play with Lexi and Lyla for a couple minutes before we put them to bed. Tonight, I just didn't want to say goodnight. They're just so darned cute and fun! And what stinks the most is that I have to work the next four days, which means little time spent with my favorite people in the world :( I really need to start playing the lottery.

Enough of my pity party. Here are some pictures of Lexi and Lyla. Yes, there are a lot of them but really, you're not coming here to read my lame thoughts! You know you're here to see my girls!
This is why the bouncy seats stay on the floor now (I know they were always supposed to be there anyway)

Learning how to share

They always want whatever toy the other one has (even if they have the same one already)

Lyla
These are Lexi's new faces. She's actually happy in them even though she looks slightly enraged. She likes to scrunch up her nose now when she smiles/laughs.

See the above caption to understand why Lexi looks angry

Lyla's relaxing with her feet kicked up

My big girls standing!

Hi Mama! Look at us! (I put them there...they're not pulling up quite yet but we're close I think)
This is how I found Lexi napping today. Play hard, Nap hard.
Casey would not take no for an answer. She wanted to be in the pictures with her babies
Lyla had her arm around Lexi, it was really cute. Too bad a certain Jack Russell couldn't move.

Lexi's throwing up her gang signs.

These girls love their doggies!

No News Is Good News?

I really don't have much to report on what's been going on around here. Lexi and Lyla are doing great, happy and healthy! They are eating, sleeping, and playing well. Despite the lack of news, I do have some cute pictures to share (of course)!

This was a failed picture attempt. Lexi had here face smushed up against the pack and play but of course as soon as I got the camera she stopped.

This was another failed picture attempt. I was feeding the girls and every time I'd turn to feed Lexi, Lyla would shove her finger up her nose! As soon as we got the camera, she stopped, and it looks like she's smirking!

Sweet Lyla

Lexi's been cheesing it up a lot lately

Happy girls!

It looks like Lexi is kissing Lyla, but I don't think she was

Lyla's looking at Lexi like, "Now what are you going to do to me?"

Enjoying some ice in the mesh feeders!

Calling All Parents!

Hi Blog friends and family! I need some help! Lexi and Lyla are sitting up really well and I'm looking for toys that would be fun for them to play with while sitting. If you have any suggestions please leave me a comment! Thank you so much!

Happy Seven Months!

Lexi and Lyla turned 7 months old on July 3rd! I wish we could say that we celebrated another month and July 4th in a big way but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Lexi and Lyla thought that since they turned 7 months that they didn't need naps anymore. I totally would not mind this because it would free us up to do more stuff...however, these girls don't do well without their naps yet. Even my normally sweet Lyla was fussy! Yikes. So while I enjoyed my weekend off with the girls, it was not as fun as it normally would have been. Today seems to be going better as the girls are napping right now for almost an hour!

I guess this goes with the territory of having twin 7 month olds. There's always speed bumps and rocky roads but it never changes the amount of love we have for Lexi and Lyla. We always know that no matter how bad of a day they may have, the next one will be a little bit better. We would have to be professional baby makers if everyday was perfect!

Other than that, Lexi and Lyla are doing great. They are rolling machines and sitting up really well. Lexi has been rocking her consonants and Josh swears that she says, "Hi Dada" all the time. Lyla hasn't started that yet but she tends to be a week or 2 behind sometimes. They love their dogs so much and look all around for them. They've been sleeping really well (except for this weekend) and usually don't wake up until 6:30-7:30. They LOVE sweet potatoes and I've given up on green vegetables since peas came back up and green beans got *THE* face.

And now, my 7 month photo shoot, which I must say is getting better!
