Lexi and Lyla's walking skills seem to be improving daily. It seems like just as I was blogging about Lyla not walking while holding onto our finger, she all of a sudden starts! That's my little girl...prove me wrong! We find them walking more and more instead of crawling. It's crazy how these little girls pick things up!

Our New Chairs!
Lexi and Lyla are the proud new owners of their very own PB Kids chairs! Who would have thought that chairs would be great for climbing?! Also, what's the point in getting their names embroidered on them...they seem to always sit in each others chair anyway! But, they really seem to enjoy these adorable chairs. I highly recommend them, and I am so glad that we didn't get the smaller size! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for getting the inserts!
Here's Lyla actually sitting in her own chair (I think we had to pose her in it):

Baby Steps
Lexi and Lyla have made major progress in this past week with their walking skills. Lexi will take 6-7 steps before either falling or sitting down. She still loves to walk holding our hands too. Today, I noticed her walking from toy to toy in the playroom instead of crawling, a few times. Lyla will take maybe 3 steps before leaping into my arms. The funny thing about her though, her steps are more like runs or jumps. Lyla still is not a huge fan of walking while holding our hands. But, progress is progress, and at least I know they are on their way! I have a few short videos that are way too hilarious not to share!
In this first video, you don't really see much of Lyla walking, but you do get to see the cutest smiley face ever at the end!
This video features my daughter Lyla, also known as...The Camera Thief.
Here's some actual steps by Lyla:
This video doesn't really do Lexi's walking skills justice. It does however demonstrate how silly things can become hats and how twin sisters can try to steal the spotlight.

A Few New Year's Resolutions
I'm thinking that if I post my New Year's Resolutions, it will make me stick to them. Kind of hold me accountable, right? Well, here it goes:
- Start working out again. In all honesty, I weigh slightly less than I did before I became pregnant with Lexi and Lyla, so it's not a numbers thing on this one. Pregnancy changes things though, so I have some areas to tone up.
- Start cooking more. I used to cook a good amount, but after the girls were born I found that I didn't quite have the time for it. I'm finding that there is more time these days, so I need to get back with it! I've already made Chili, and my Chicken Pot Pie Casserole, so I'm well on my way on this one. If you have recipes you love, share them! My friend, Amber, is really good about posting recipes, so I might try to pass them on as well!
- This one is slightly embarrassing, but here it is: Start washing my face at night again. I know it's disgusting, and I can't believe I typed that for the whole world to see, but most nights I am so worn out that I just get into bed without even thinking about it! GROSS!
- Take pictures of the girls more. I know, you're probably thinking that I take tons of pictures of them already, but really, several days will go by and I won't take any.

And a Merry Christmas, too!
Lexi and Lyla are so lucky...they get to celebrate Chanukah and Christmas! They got a ton of new clothes from Bubbie and Zayde for Chanukah, so it only makes sense that they would get a ton of new toys from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas! Thank you to all of the Grandparents for spoiling your beautiful grand-daughters this holiday season! They love everything you got them, and so do their Mama and Daddy!

Happy 13 Months!
Or 1 year and 1 month, as Daddy likes to say! This past month since Lexi and Lyla's birthday has FLOWN by! I sure hope the rest of the year isn't like this. I'm not ready to start thinking about their SECOND birthday!
The girls have had a great month and things have been going very well around here. They made the transition from bottles to sippy cups and from formula to milk FLAWLESSLY. We've still been slightly warming their milk up for them, but I really don't know if that is even necessary any more because they LOVE the milk. They've been eating really well and their favorite foods right now are cucumbers, blueberries, pears, mandarin oranges, and broccoli with cheese.
Neither Lexi nor Lyla is walking yet, and I honestly don't forsee it happening soon. They both walk great with their push toys and Lexi has taken a couple steps on her own and will walk all day holding my hand. Lyla wants to run before she walks and won't really walk holding my hand. So, I guess they're going to take their time on this one. *sigh*
They both talk all day. Now, most of this talking is unrecognizable to an adult, but they seem to understand each other for the most part. Both of them will say "Sissy", which is incredibly cute. They can both show you where their nose is, if you ask them. And if you say "Where's Lexi/Lyla?" , they put their hands on their heads. We've been working on "Touchdown", and they almost have that trick down!
Lexi and Lyla continue to be such joys and are such happy girls. Mama and Daddy love you baby girls so much!
