So Josh and I decided to buy this 10 foot above ground pool from my store. It has a filter and was only 50 dollars...no big expectations there. However, it is SO MUCH FUN! Josh put it together Thursday night and we got in it after the girls went to bed. It was so relaxing and we felt like we were on a vacation. Yesterday I went to Old Navy to get the girls some bathing suits (big sale there by the way) and got a little carried away. Finally, today we got the girls in it after an enjoyable catfish fry with my parents and Josh's parents. And they LOVED IT. Well, until we noticed that Lexi happened to poop! Let me just say, cleaning up poop off a wet baby, who's wearing Little Splashers that pull up, is not easy. But, it was a great day, one of those days where you just can't help but feel incredibly lucky and blessed with these 2 beautiful baby girls.

Happy Father's Day!
I know Josh will probably never read this, as he really does not check out the blog. However, just in case he happens to click on here during a nap time or some rare alone time for him...Happy Father's Day Josh.
Thank you for making me a Mama. Thank you for loving your girls more than I ever expected you would. Thank you for quitting your job to take care of your girls so that I could work with a peace of mind. Thank you for changing poopy diapers and describing the poop for me while I'm at work so I feel like I'm there. Thank you for texting me pictures of the girls while I'm at work. Thank you for making your girls smile and laugh. Thank you for figuring out a schedule that keeps the girls happy. Thank you for keeping the house clean so that I don't have to. Thank you for stepping back on my days off so that I can spend time with them. Thank you for handling all late night "paci replacements". Thank you for not forgetting our furry girls too.
We all love you more than we could ever tell you, which is maybe why I'm typing this.
Love,
Cecilia, Casey, Piper, Lexi, and Lyla

Storm Shelter
Last Friday we had a bad storm come through the Memphis area. I was at work watching it through the walk-up window, while taking care of an extremely storm-phobic patient (don't ask). One of our technicians asked me how Lexi and Lyla do during storms. I said that they are fine, they actually sleep really well though storms. However, Casey and Piper absolutely HATE storms. The storm got so bad that Josh actually had to take precaution and get in the closet with all FOUR of our girls. Of course, he had to take some pictures. They were too funny not to post. Oh, and everyone was fine after the storm, even my storm-phobic patient!

6 Months
Really? Are my teeny tiny babies really 6 months old? Somebody stop time...STAT! I can't believe that Lexi and Lyla are one half of a year old. The past 6 months have not always been easy, but these girls are the most amazing little things in the world. Everyday my love for them grows even stronger, and I often have to stop and wonder how I could possibly love them any more than I did the day before. Lexi and Lyla, your Daddy and I love you both so much and we thank you both for being such wonderful little girls.
Josh and I took the girls to the doctor today for their 6 month appointment. They are growing so well! Lexi weighs 15 pounds and was 25 1/4 inches long. Lyla weighs 14 lbs, 5 ounces and was 24 1/2 inches long. Both of their heads were 43 cm in circumference. Their pediatrician was so amazed by their growth. They are both moving up the growth chart great! It's amazing to think that 6 months ago when we took the girls home from the hospital they both weighed under 4 pounds! Josh and I can grow some babies!
My girls are some tough cookies. First of all, they are definitely not shy. They smiled and just stared at their doctor the whole time. Lexi was even grabbing her stethoscope to try and put it in her mouth! They cried just a second when they got their shots, but the tears quickly turned into smiles when they got picked back up. I'm so proud of them.
And now, their monthly photo shoot. These are some squirmy girls!
